There are 3 stages ever Since the establishment of National Formosa University. The clear school-running direction and distinguished performances of the alumni in each stage has contributed greatly to the society and the country.
During the era of Yunlin College of Technology, the curriculum plan is primarily to cultivate junior engineers, with active involvement in vocational market and wide recognition of the alumni by the society. During the era of Formosa College of Technology, the curriculum plan is changed to 2-year & 4-year degree courses to meet the requirements resulting from the upgrade of traditional technologies.
The final stage is to change the name to National Formosa University. As a result of the continuous technology advance, the University has put great effort in advancing its curriculum plans in industries relating to fiber-optics, semi-conductor, information technology, telecommunication, precision machinery and biotechnology, and in establishing related research-originated departments and graduate schools to meet the increasing demands. Our teachers have work really hard in down-to-earth teaching & application research and have accumulated substantial professional experiences and achievements, of which are recognized and valued greatly by the industries, government organizations, academic organizations and research institutes.
